Following sections describe the individual settings.

Play Mode

Play Mode has two settings:

  • Set in Sequence
  • Random Words

With ‘Set in Sequence’, all the scrambles in a set are played in order (from easy to difficult). Once a set is completed, a new set will be displayed.

So, if you chose the set French Cuisine, you can play all the scrambles in French Cuisine from Easy to Hard. Once you are done with it, you can choose to rate the set. After that, this set will show up with a check mark and your rating in the set lists.

With ‘Random Words’, you will play scrambles from different sets. So, one scramble might be from ‘Empires’ set; next one might be from ‘French Cuisine’; and so on.

Set Level

Set Level has four settings:

  • All
  • General
  • Kids
  • Specialized

With ‘All’, the sets and scrambles displayed are from all levels.

‘General’ level contains sets/scrambles for most of the players (e.g. Cars, Herbs, Hobbies, etc.).

‘Kids’ level contains sets that can be enjoyed by kids (e.g. Cookies, Explorers, Large Countries, etc.).

The sets of ‘Specialized’ level require some knowledge in the given area (e.g. OS X Utilities, Jane Austen, etc.)

Word Difficulty

Word Difficulty has four settings:

  • All
  • Easy
  • Medium
  • Hard

You can choose to play only Easy scrambles or Medium difficulty scrambles or Hard scrambles or mix them all up. These not the set levels, but difficulty of individual scrambles.

This is valid only when the ‘Random Words’ setting in ‘Play Mode’ is chosen.

Replay Words

Replay Words has two settings:

  • No
  • Yes

By default, if you played a scramble, it won’t be shown again (unless you played all the scrambles). However, if you choose ‘Yes’, previously played scrambles are mixed up with new scrambles.

This is valid only when the ‘Random Words’ setting in ‘Play Mode’ is chosen.

Show Tips

Show Tips has two settings:

  • No
  • Yes

Update Score on Server

Update Score on Server has two settings:

  • No
  • Yes

If you choose Yes, your score will be updated on the server on a periodic basis (after the completion of a set). If you want to update it right away, change it Yes-No-Yes (if it’s currently set to Yes).

Mix Up the Settings

You can choose different values for settings (especially Play Mode, Set Level, and Word Difficulty) and come up with some interesting plays.

For example, following will display easy scrambles from different sets for kids.

  • Play Mode: Random Words
  • Set Level: Kids
  • Word Difficulty: Easy

Following will show, perhaps, the hardest scrambles, one set after other.

  • Play Mode: Set in Sequence
  • Set Level: Specialized

Plenty of other combinations of settings yield interesting plays.
